Salvia nemorosa 'Violet Queen'

Ornamental meadow sage

A large, clump forming Salvia with deep purple-blue spikelets of tiny flowers.

Begins to bloom a little earlier than most of the species with buds arriving in early summer.

Easy to grow and maintain, Salvia are superb with almost any other plants. Give them a well drained soil in sun or shade and just let them do their stuff. Deadheading whole flower spikes as they fade will encourage more to form but this is not essential.

Perfect for the more laissez-faire kind of gardener.
