Potentilla thurberi 'Monarch's Velvet'

Scarlet cinquefoil

This red cinquefoil is a wonderful, long flowering performer for a sunny herbaceous or cottage style border.

'Monarch's Velvet' is a refined cultivar and is one of the most attractive varieties available.

It has  rich blood red flowers with deep velvet red centres from June to August and hairy, strawberry-like leaves.

They prefer a well drained, sandy loam in full sun or part shade.

For maximum success chose a site that doesn't get waterlogged in winter.
