Physostegia virginiana 'Summer Snow'
Obedient plant
Obedient by name, obedient by nature - this plant has a very unusual characteristic. If the flowers are gently bent by the stem they don't spring back but stay where they are put.
They achieve this feat of whimsy by growing on stems that swivel. Hours of fun and easy to grow. It spreads by underground rhizomes and forms a substantial clump over time so bear this in mind when planting.
Prefers rich, moist soil, and will tolerate wet conditions beside a stream or pond. Easily divided every 2 to 3 years in early spring.
We also grow a pink variety.
