Miscanthus sinensis 'Dronning ingrid'
A cultivar named in 1997 at the famous Overdam nursery in Denmark, this grass is relatively new to the UK.
It's a decorative clump-forming perennial grass with narrow, erect to arching dark green leaves with a pale central stripe and purple tints at the leaf margin. These become quite a vibrant red in late summer when large panicles of fox red flower spikes add even more colour and interest.
Large but not immense, this is a very eye catching addition to our range of mid size Miscanthus.
