Miscanthus nepalensis
Himalayan Fairy Grass
A neat, dainty, elegant grass with flower panicles that are soft, creamy and droopy.
They look like the ears on an Afghan Hound and have a similar tactile quality. These 'ears' hang off long wiry stems that shoot out from well behaved, lush, green foliage.
Fast becoming a favourite of the more expensive garden designers this is one Miscanthus that will probably become ubiquitous. Rightly so because it fits in almost anywhere and with almost any style.
Very manageable, wonderfully decorative but some winter protection needed unless planted in a sheltered site.
