Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went'
Easy, unpretentious, hard working, tolerant, fabulous cottage garden plants that everyone should have.
Linaria purpurea take up little space, grow well in tubs and troughs, provide long lasting cut flowers for indoors, adapt well to most soils, sites and aspects, feed every insect going and provide a softening shimmering filler for perennial borders.
They can be planted in windy spots, by the sea and in chalky soil.
'Canon Went' produces tall spires of tiny pinky purple flowers from clumps of fine, grey-green leaves from July until the first frosts.
Continual cutting encourages flowering so your vases should be well stocked throughout the summer.
Plants are long lived. All they want is well drained soil preferably in full sun. Phew!
Well drained, any
