Ligularia dentata 'Midnight Lady'

Leopard plant

A distinctive new variety of Ligularia with luscious dark purple foliage.

In summer and early autumn the plant displays golden rays of flowers on very long stems.

They are native to moist grassland in China and Japan and dislike hot, mid-day sun and dry soils.

Light shade is more than acceptable for these sultry beauties.

Spectacular by ponds or streams, they add a touch of exoticism to any waterside planting. Slugs and snails will want to feast on the large dinner plate sized leaves so protect the plants until established.

Remove any damaged leaves at the base to encourage new growth.
