Libertia ixioides 'Goldfinger'
New Zealand satin flower
The fiery colours of this lovely selection from New Zealand makes for an exuberant flash of colour in pots, planters and gravel gardens. Sparkling gold, deep orange and olive striped, stiff sword-like leaves form an erect evergreen clump topped with starry bright white flowers. When fully grown the leaf tips weep slightly softening the plants appearance.
Even more dramatic is its appearance during autumn and winter when the foliage becomes a golden cascade accompanied by rattling yellow seed pods. This is a smashing little foliage plant with a compact and neat habit.
Requires well drained soil on the dryish side and will benefit from winter protection from cold winds and excessive wet.
