Heuchara hybrida 'Melting Fire'

Fancy-leaf coral bells

A strong grower, this new introduction certainly deserves its name.

'Melting Fire' is a fantastic foliage plant with large curly leaves that emerge fiery red. As they age the leaves change, appearing heavily ruffled with deep maroon coloration at maturity. With new and old leaves on each plant, there's an interesting blend of red, maroon, and purple foliage throughout the growing season.

The mounded, attractive clumps remain compact, measuring a tidy 35cm across and 45cm tall when in bloom. Wiry flower stems bearing numerous small white coral bell shaped flowers appear in late spring and continue throughout the early summer months.

Heuchara thrive in partial shade and well drained humus rich soil. Fantastic for planting near trees and shrubs that partially shade the border.
