Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra 'Bleeding Hearts'

False Sunflower

A new Heliopsis introduced in 2017 by German plant breeders, the cultivar 'Bleeding Hearts' is an imposing member of the aster family growing to 120 cm high.

The flowers emerge fire red, changing to orange red, turning to bronze coloured. A slow sunset on a stick.

It has healthy dark purple leaves, black stems, a sturdy habit, and is suitable for cutting, as an ornamental foliage plant and a wayside diner for bees.

Grow in well drained soil in full sun.
