Aristocratic and elegant. A beautiful plant for a restrained border.
It's a bulbous perennial originating from South Africa and is in bloom when many plants are past their best.
Pure white bells adorn the tall, sturdy stems in late summer to early autumn and it mixes well with other plants of a similar nature such as Agapanthus.
It has the appearance of a giant snowdrop although draped in many more flowers.
Despite being from the deep south, it requires a moist but well drained soil and is relatively trouble free. Staking should only be necessary in breezy locations.
Beautiful and refined.
