Dianthus chinensis 'Dancing Geisha'
Chinese pink
The flowers on this Dianthus are totally potty. They look like umbrellas that have been shredded in a high wind.
Large, drooping and fringed the blooms come in a range of pinks, whites, purples and reds. So unusual they need to be shown off.
A pot filled with gritty soil is perfect. In addition the blue-green foliage is erect and tidy and the flowers waft the fragrance of cloves around the garden.
Snap off the spent flowers for a display that will last for months.
Excessive winter wet may cause the plant to rot and die.
