Aquilegia x hybrida 'Blue Star'

Granny’s bonnets

The 'Star Series' of Aquilegias have large flowers; up to 10cm across, and were selectively bred for their more upward facing blooms.

'Blue Star' has rich lavender blue petals  surrounding a white corolla. Combined with elegant blue green leaves this makes an eye catching, somewhat crisp combination.

They make their appearance in early spring, emerging just in time to fill the gap left by fading spring bulbs.

A sophisticated plant for the early spring border or as an unusual addition to a light woodland setting.
