Aquilegia 'Roundway Chocolate'

Columbine

An interesting and useful colour for an Aquilegia - which in our view isn't that chocolatey unless you like to be spoiled by His Excellency.

It's more a dark, rusty red resembling a damp fox rather than a bar of Cadburys finest. Still, it's easy to grow and plants of this hue are few and far between.

The flowers are tight doubles giving them a buttonish look and it works well amongst the brighter, more effervescent tones of a hot coloured border. The foliage is a pleasing fern green.

All round, a very useful little plant.
