Anemone rivularis ‘Glacier’
Rivularis means "by the waterside" and this anemone grows well in damp, shady places. The plant is fairly tall and wonderfully ethereal so protection from howling winds is advised. The flowers are over an inch wide, soft petalled in creamy white shades tinged with blue.
In its native Himalayas it grows at altitudes of 4000 metres and various parts of the plant are used medicinally, particularly in Tibetan medicine.
A handsome and very beautiful plant for damp woodland or stream sides. It will tolerate sun as long as the roots are moist.
Moist, well drained
