Actea biternata BSWJ 11190

Japanese bugbane

An ethereal and delicate looking Actea collected from the slopes of Mount Fuji, Japan's highest and most sacred mountain.

It's fast becoming one of our favourites for its vibrant green foliage, ornamental berries and the delicate, lemony fragrance of the enchanting flowers.

These are undeniably cute pom-poms of white fluffiness that resemble little pixie powder puffs. Despite this innocent appeal the plant is a toughie, for a rich soil in full or partial shade.  Excellent in the darker spots of the border where the vainer pixies lurk.
